1. The Short Version

Your files never leave your device. LocalPDF processes everything locally in your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. We have no server-side access to your documents at any point.

2. What We Don't Collect

Because all processing is client-side, we are technically incapable of collecting:

  • The content of your PDF files or any documents you use with our tools
  • Personal data contained within your documents
  • Filenames or metadata of your files
  • Any derived or processed output from your files

3. What We May Collect

To understand how the site is used and to fix bugs, we may collect anonymous, non-personal data:

  • Anonymous usage analytics: Which pages and tools are visited. This data is aggregated and cannot identify any individual user or document.
  • Anonymous error reports: Crash or error information with no personal data or file content attached.

We use Google Analytics for visit counting. It is fully GDPR-compliant and collects no personal data. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

4. Cookies

We use minimal, functional cookies only — for example, storing your language preference (saved in localStorage, not cookies). We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.

5. Third-Party Libraries

LocalPDF uses open-source libraries (PDF-lib, PDF.js, PyMuPDF WASM, Ghostscript WASM, and others) that run entirely in your browser. These libraries do not transmit your data to any external server. WASM binaries are loaded from a CDN on first use; subsequent use is served from your browser cache.

6. Data Security

Since your files are never transmitted to any server, there is no risk of interception or server-side data breach. The security of your documents is determined entirely by the security of your own device and browser.

7. Children's Privacy

LocalPDF is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
